Artur Bugsgang
Artur Bugsgang specialises in tax law and has thorough knowledge of personal income tax and corporate tax as well as VAT and indirect taxes.
Artur has a right of audience before the Danish Supreme Court and is recognised by Chambers, The Legal 500 and Who's Who Legal within Tax. In 2018, he was given a fellow lawyers’ award, Sagførernes Auktioners Legat, in recognition of his contribution as a member of the Fiscal Affairs Committee (whose tasks include preparing consultation responses to the Danish Ministry of Taxation) under the Council of the Danish Bar and Law Society.
Artur has a wealth of experience in advising international groups on Danish tax issues in connection with company transactions and reorganisations. He also provides tax law advice relating to dividend tax, payment of dividend and share option schemes, etc.
Moreover, Artur advises on tax and company law in connection with the sale and purchase of enterprises, ownership transition, capital injection, mergers and demergers. He also provides general business advice in connection with the operation of enterprises, focusing on e.g. incentive schemes. Finally, he advises on VAT and indirect taxes, including car registration taxes. Artur has, furthermore, conducted a number of cases before the Danish courts.
Artur was a part-time lecturer in tax law at the University of Copenhagen for more than 20 years. In addition, he has authored various articles on tax, VAT and financial services in a number of Danish and international journals.

- Artur has acted before the Danish courts for clients such as Danish financial services group Nykredit, Volvo, Danish property company Freja ejendomme A/S, Akzo Nobel and the Danish Car Importers Association.
- Artur acted for Danish foundation Verner Overgaards Familiefond in a lawsuit concerning the illegal transfer of shares to members of its Governing Body. The foundation sued successfully and was awarded damages in the amount of DKK 150m. The lawsuit was pending before the Danish Western High Court for six years.
- Artur advised an Irish financing company providing trailer and truck rental and leasing solutions on potential Danish tax liability. He advised on the registration of a branch in Denmark without creating a permanent establishment subject to tax liability. The Danish National Tax Board issued an advance tax ruling that the branch would not be liable to pay tax in Denmark.
